This lecture covers the fundamentals of computer animation, with the focus on interpolation-based animation as well as animation based on physical simulation. The lecture is held in German language. The following topics are discussed:

  • Animation Process
  • Keyframe Interpolation
  • Representation and Interpolation of Orientation
  • Forward and Inverse Kinematics
  • Motion Capture
  • Rigid Body Simulation
  • Collision Detection and Response
  • Deformable Body Simulation (Mass Spring Systems, Elasticity Theory, FEM)
  • Fluid Simulation (Navier Stokes Equations, Projection Method, SPH)
